If there is a size option you will select 16×9. But it may distort the pic as it was built to be a standard screen. ALSO the broadcast received will determine the rez
Jenny asks…
What is a good website to get HD TV reviews?
I can’t find a good website that give solid reviews on flat-screen HD TVs Professional reviews preferably.
I don’t know much about this TV and have read good reviews but would like to hear from some people who actually own one – is this TV okay? Please, I’m not looking for guesses (I can guess myself), just want to hear from peopel who have one, thanks.
Jim answers:
They are ok, The issue with the overheating is because the materials inside are extremely low quality, once they cool down it starts again. The other thing is that they tend to have very low native contrast ratios, which is what makes black look black instead of some abomination of grey. The higher the number the better… Around 15000:1 is a good rating. Overall they are not bad for less than moderate use situations, considering what you will pay for them.
I have a vizio lcd tv… and I hooked it up to my desktop… its working fine, but will this slow my pc down?
because Im a musician, and will be using this computer to record vocals, and compose music…
so should I stick with a regular computermonitor or is the tv just fine ??
thanks
Jim answers:
Yep. You can use a curved-screen TV as a computer monitor as well, not just LCD’s, plasmas, projection TV’s, and flat CRT’s.
Lizzie asks…
Poll:Can they make Computer monitor screens as big as a flat screen tv?

Can my 26in Sanyo Flat Screen tv double as my computer monitor?
My TV is sitting right above my computer in my office and Im looking to buy a new monitor. The thought just occured to me to somehow connect my computer to my tv ( which are only 12 inches apart). Is this possible? Would I need any special equipment? Thank for your help as I know very little about computers and even less about televisions.
Jim answers:
It depends on your graphics card. As far as i know, an ATI all in wonder allows you to do this because it comes with a prong port tht connects to the monitor port. I dont know of any otehr graphics cards that do this but u can easily find them at a comp. Store
After being on for a short time my Philips LCD starts ringing. The first time I thought my ears were ringing, but, no one was thinking about me… Definitely coming from the TV. If you turn it off, and then back on, it stops for a while only to start back up. The TV is only 2 years old!
Well I’m 14 and I’m working for the summer and in my first paycheck I should have enough money to buy a 32′ tv, but I need one that is good for an xbox 360 and one that will last for a long time…
I was told that a guys wife plays online games & trades the points in for jackets, computer monitors, flat screen tvs & lots of other items. I love playing online games & would like to get something for it. Thanks in advance.

My dilemma is this: I like things to be perfect, and that requires an electronic calendar rather than one with handwriting on it.
Basically, I want a little flat screen TV or computer monitor hanging on the wall, and I want to have a calendar program set to full screen when I’m not using my laptop so that the monitor on the wall will have a calendar displayed that can be edited by typing on my laptop whenever it needs additions or changes.
The calendar software can be any old program; I’ll figure out which to use on my own. My concern is how to wirelessly display my laptop screen (currently a Toshiba running Windows) on a monitor on the wall. I guess it doesn’t HAVE to be wireless, but that is my preference. Give me some ideas. Thanks.
My bedroom is 12×14 with cream walls I was thinking it might look very cool to paint the wall flat black then when we are watching tv at night it would be more theater like. If this would not Look right throw in your idea I wil read them al so thanks to you for your answers.
In this video, I demonstrate how to clean a flat screen TV (ie LCD or Plasma). Many people are worried about touching the screen and ruining it, scratching it or removing the anti-glare coating, yet get annoyed with fingerprints and streaks on the screen. Here, I show everyone how simple it is to clean a flat screen and of course, the proper way to do it! Enjoy!
I want to watch movies on my TV screen but I find my iPod more portable than a CD or DVD. I have a cable that connects my iPod to my TV. I can hear the dialogue just fine, when I play the movie. But I cannot see anything. I downloaded the movie legally, from iTunes. I also have video that I shot myself. But in either case, all I can see is a blank screen though I hear everything perfectly in both cases. I tried every single channel on my TV. I do not have cable TV or dish TV connections. My TV is an old one ( JVC I’Art — about 10 years old). I have a Sony flat-panel monitor too, which is only 2 years old. That one works fine except for one thing — it turns everything blue! Also, the flat-panel is only 21 inches while the TV monitor is 27 inches. Any suggestions on how I can get to watch movies on a 21 inch or 27 inch screen instead of the iPod screen?
It is an iPod Nano. I purchased the iPod and the Gigaware Composite A/V cable from Radio Shack about 3 months ago.

i had my dell dimension plugged into my flat screen tv through vga monitor cable and it worked PERFECT. (s-video is too slow and blurry so don’t suggest it). i recently reformatted and reinstalled xp pro. i went to dell’s site and got all the drivers off of their site that came up for my model. its a 1100/B110 . the display only comes up in the middle of the screen and the edges on the left and right are black. when i change the resolution, it stays the same. even when i change it to a wide screen setting, the picture size stays the same, but looks smushed as if it wanted to be wide screen but it wont. any help???

I have an Acer desktop and its about 2 or 3 years old. I had it hooked up to a flat screen TV as my monitor. Just recently its not been giving a signal to my TV. The TV will eventually turn off because it has no signal. I then hooked it up to the original monitor it came with and the monitor didn’t pick up a signal either. It reads "No Signal" then an orange light turns on, and the monitor shuts off. If anyone as any idea what is going on or what I can do to fix this please let me know.
Ok I have a dell E510 desktop computer. I have an LG 42 in flat screen tv. It has the monitor cord in the back so I plug that in but I have no sound. What do I need to buy to get sound through my tv for my computer
